You check it by looking at the motor from the shaft side and not from the rear where the brushes are housed! On the other hand, if you look at the pump shaft that will couple with this motor, you will notice an arrow in the opposite direction, i.e. to the left, counterclockwise, and this is correct. Once the motor and pump have been coupled, the direction of rotation of both elements becomes the same.
