Tail lift sliding – There are tail lifts that are parked when not in use under the chassis of the vehicle at the rear. This type is called a retractable tail lift. In order to be used, it must obviously be able to be moved externally to the rear, all this process takes place thanks to the entire sliding system. There are two types of sliding that manufacturers have developed over the years. The first, cheaper, is done through aluminum guides with supports welded or bolted to the main frame of the tail lift, which slide inside it. To do this, they are equipped with rollers, bearings and/or pads made of polyzene or plastic. In this case, the translation takes place thanks to a hydraulic motor, which rotates in one direction or the opposite thanks to two different solenoid valves. The rotation of the motor acts on a shaft as long as the width of the tail lift on which pinions are mounted that rotate on a rack attached to the sliding guides.
The other method adopted involves the application to the truck chassis of two hollow or solid chrome or specially treated aluminum round guides, on which the supports that support the tail lift slide. These have self-lubricating bushings inside that allow them to enter and exit by sliding as the surface of the guides is extremely smooth. In this case, the solution adopted for the entry and exit of the tail lift involves the use of a hydraulic extension cylinder that can be simple or coupled. The latter is defined as such because it involves the welding together of two cylinders in order to develop a greater stroke without the rod of the cylinder being affected and bent. All the products that deal with the translation of the retractable tail lifts just mentioned can be found in this category.
